About

Crocheting started as a hobby for me about a year ago. But now it has become more than just a hobby and I decided to make it a part of my professional work as an artist. I’m a Dutch illustrator and painter and make vivid drawings and paintings, which each tell their own story. My work is humoristic and colourful. My crocheted dolls and animals are inspired by my drawings and I consider them the same style. I started crocheting animals by using patterns but after a while that wasn’t satisfying enough and I wanted to design my own amigurumi. At first with the help of patterns as an example and to learn from, till I had enough skills to make my own stuff. I decided that when my skills where good enough, I would launch a blog with pictures, patterns, tips, tricks and more, to share my amigurumi with the world. I hope you enjoy this blog! And oh, because I’m Dutch, my English probably is a bit scruffy. But I do want to write in English because worldwide just a few people speak Dutch and many people speak English, including  many Dutch people.

My portfolio as illustrator you can see here.

Your blog and your work are very beautiful, both the stuffed and the “flat” art! Thanks for sharing it. I don’t crochet much anymore myself but am subscribing to your blog so I can enjoy reading / looking at your posts again.

Hi Ingrid, thanks for your very kind comment, it’s great to hear you like my work. I’ll hope my future work will keep you interested, there is a lot more to come, both stuffed and flat.

I also checked out your blog. I used to have loop braided bracelets, they are nice and personal, what you make looks very beautiful!

      Regards, Sonja.
